Criteria and Judging



A special panel of judges, all Digital Nomads themselves, will review the top 10 rated entries and determine the winner. Each person can submit one video entry, which will be judged on originality (where were you working from and why), use of technology (what products aided you in your ability to be productive?) and impact (what were you able to achieve or accomplish?). The judges include: 

Bruce Eric Anderson (aka @bruceeric)

Bruce Eric Anderson has been a digital nomad since 1995 when he owned his first laptop computer, has traveled extensively and is now a "corridor nomad" giving him the opportunity to spend time with his wife and kids. Today, he is the Social Media Evangelist for Dell and has worked for the company since 1999 in variety of roles. Bruce launched the site DigitalNomads.com powered by Dell, where a community of Digital Nomads can navigate through this idea of working anywhere and share insights to technology, nomadic news and lifestyle all in one place.

Craig Crossman

Graig Crossman is a national newspaper columnist for McClatchy-Tribune newspapers, specializing in computer-related articles. Throughout the years his articles continue to appear in hundreds of newspapers including The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Orange County Register, The Hawaiian Advertiser, The San Jose Mercury News and The Press-Enterprise. He created and hosts the program Computer America, the longest running, nationally syndicated radio talk show about computers and related technologies to keep people productive. Broadcasting on radio stations coast-to-coast, Computer America is heard daily (Monday - Friday) on both the Business TalkRadio Network and the LifeStyle TalkRadio Network. It is now in its eighteenth season of national syndication.

Chris Guillebeau

Chris Guillebeau is a writer, world traveler and social entrepreneur. His mission is to help people live unconventional lives, make their own choices and change the world. As a writer, Chris shares his personal experiences, including the details to his five-year personal quest to visit every country in the world. He has served as a volunteer executive for a medical charity in West Africa from 2002-2006.  His entrepreneurial history has ranged from importing coffee from Jamaica, search engine optimization in its early days, Google Adwords and Adsense arbitrage, and building a small publishing company while volunteering in Africa. He now sells Unconventional Products., writes a blog, as well as articles for the Oregonian newspaper, the Huffington Post, and Anderson Cooper’s 360 site. His book, The Art of Nonconformity, will be published by Perigee in September 2010.



Chris Shipley

Chris Shipley is a leading technology and product analyst. As the executive producer of the IDG's DEMO Conferences, Chris helped technology companies bring more than 1,500 new products to market at that conference from 1996 to 2009.  Now, Chris devotes full time to her role as chairman and CEO of Guidewire Group, working with emerging technology companies in the U.S. and Europe to develop and implement strategies that accelerate their value creation. Over the years, Chris has been recognized for her contribution to entrepreneurship. Fortune Small Business Magazine called her a "Top 10 Minds in Small Business," and the San Jose Business Journal named her a "Woman of Distinction."  Shipley has covered personal technology since 1984 and has worked as a writer and editor for a variety of technology and consumer media. She is currently working on several books on entrepreneurship and the social impact of technology-driven change.

Filip Tack

As Founder and CEO of Nomadesk, Filip Tack is responsible for strategic planning and successfully implementing the company’s long-range business plans. Nomadesk stands for “nomadic desk” and it is a way for people on the go to be able to share, sync, backup and store their stuff both online and offline, with no limits. Filip oversees the company’s corporate finance, market, business and product development. He also manages the global affiliate partnership program to broaden Nomadesk’s user base around the world. Filip is also a member of the expert Business Planning and Entrepreneurship team which is appointed by the European Commission to review projects funded by the European community.
