The Story

NomaDesk was founded in 2004 by Filip Tack, Miguel De Buf and Peter Geldhof on the premise that professional-grade collaboration solutions shouldn't be limited to large enterprise customers.

NomaDesk is the world's first virtual fileserver that enables both online and offline document management. NomaDesk is a  Software as a Service, Thin Client/Server solution  that enables you to automatically share, encrypt, and back up all critical data so you can:

  • Stay more productive
  • Maximize team collaboration
  • Increase data security
  • Reduce bandwidth costs

... without any up-front infrastructure costs.

History

In May of 2005 NomaDesk was awarded in Bizidee’s business plan competition, and closed a seed capital financing round with the aid of BAN (Business Angels Network) Flanders, IWT (an institute for the encouragement of innovation through science and technology) and the Participatiefonds (a co-investment government initiative). NomaDesk was launched in 2006 and its client base consists of a rapidly growing number of global businesses.

Proudly, the company recently completed a € 3M Venture Capital "A" Round with Gimv, one of Europe’s most important private equity and venture capital providers.
